Sheger Microfinance Services

Our Branch offices are the operational unit of the Company. Branch offices have been providing all finance services of the Company such as credit provision; Saving Mobilization and all other relevant services. Branch offices include Branch managers, finance officers, cashiers, Customer Service Officers and other supporting staff.

Compulsory savings

Compulsory savings are collected from loan clients of Sheger as a pre and post loan, which is introduced and designed as a condition for obtaining a loan to ensure that clients are able to meet their repayments.

Voluntary savings

Voluntary savings are collected from non-loan and loan clients and provided based on clients’ free will to save. Sheger MFI pays an annual interest of 8% on any deposits made by individual non-loan voluntary savers clients on the minimum balance of the months.

Fixed time deposit

Fixed time deposit is a type of deposit, which is received for a certain agreed period of time at pre agreed interest rate that to be paid if only withdrawal is made after the agreed time. The minimum amount to be deposited as time deposit is Birr 50,000.00 and the minimum period for deposit is 1(One) year while the maximum period is 5(Five) years. Interest on TD is negotiable. The minimum interest is 9% and it’s negotiable.

Coin Box Saving

The deposit is expected to be made on the daily bases by clients at their regular working place Interest rate for Coin Box is similar to Voluntary saving rate
